Historic Oakwood will take you back in time.  It is a nineteenth century neighborhood in the heart of downtown Raleigh.  Designated on the National Register of Historic Places, this neighborhood has hundreds of homes that have been lovingly restored to their original state.  In celebration of these remarkable homes, the Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour and the Garden Tour & Tea provide the opportunities for the public to view a select few of these homes and gardens.  The locally owned small cafes, coffee shops and trendy eateries make this community a one of a kind treasure.
